Yeah exactly my point, it went from a noble thing done by men who want to legit break their porn addiction and gain back the time they waste from it to redditors treating it like some dumb game and bragging about how long they go without watching BLACKED on the hub. And like you said the porn industry benefits too as even they promote it at this point to sell these men content, especially at such a vulnerable time of porn recovery.

You then also have the spergs who are very misinformed on how nofap related stuff actually works and believe they will become so much more confidence and high test if they don't wank. Yes, it can help confidence and test levels somewhat but only up to a certain amount of days to which then they very much placebo. For self-discpline and wasting less time nofap is great but don't believe you'll suddenly become more attractive to girls because you don't touch your willy.

What's gone from a movement to help men get over porn and unhealthy masturbation habits has now been taken over by Redditors as some cringe meme challenge and these days I can't take it seriously.

It was just some joke challenge that people came up with that got some traction on certain forums (I vaguely remember people talking about it on the Facepunch forums). It was really weird to see it go from a stupid internet challenge into this thing that people take with religious seriousness.
