Need another reason to switch to Linux? Just look at the new absolutely brilliant piece of spyware they are adding to Windows 11 (if it didn't have enough). With their new AI they will be literally recording your screen, keylogging you, and passing any of this data that they wish to their cloud, isn't that dandy?

This shit is creepy asf, I've left Linux alone for awhile due to the ease and comfort of Windows but despite the prior warnings I should've followed this might be the straw that breaks the camel's back for me to leave Windows. So uh, if you know many good Linux distros then please hit me up, as long as its not totally annoying to use it should be fine for my use as damn Windows gets creepier by the day...

Funny to see him worried about it. He will be better off focusing his efforts on his "merch store" with Chinese cctv and drop shipped electronics.

As for Linux. Depends on what you need. If you're looking for something that's very easy to wrap your head around, then check pop os. Step above it in complexity is opensuse. If you're committed to messing with CLI and such, then Manjaro / arch IG. Most important, the GUI. For smth that looks like windows 10/11, get kde plasma. If you want something more like ios then get gnome. At first run distro of your choice from live CD. Mess around it, check what it can and can't do.

Keep in mind that at the end of the day it's still Linux. Shit may not work and you won't be able to do much about it.
And please. Don't hop on docker bandwagon. You really don't need a separate container for every single app you run. I swear it's the most soy was of running software in a while.

Just as pozzed, but without cool and trendy ai assistant that steals your data (tho telemetry still does)
I’m not going to use Linux just yet since many apps are not available there. As much as I hate Windows, I have even more reasons not to use Linux.

Win7 is still the unbeaten champion, no other version of windows comes even close, windows has totally been shat up since bill left M$ to become a full-time supervillan.

Yeah Linux is a pain in the arse no doubt but especially in the next five years you'll want to hop over if you care about your privacy. Sure you could downgrade to Windows 7 too but that comes with a bunch of compatability issues these days and I can't lie what people are doing with Linux these days is really cool.

ive been slowly learning linux (IT shit) and i know one of these days im just going to end up biting the bullet and end up switching full time.

im tired of dealing with microsofts horrible and annoying software, their shitty spyware browser that tries to automatically install every time you uninstall it (that they make it harder and harder to remove), the push for telemetry and other non-privacy respecting software and in general sick of their shit.

its only a matter of time for me. all the apps that i use can be used natively on linux or i can find some alternative that works about the same or exactly. although gaming will be an issue but that has its workarounds.

Linux is a meme if you want to use your computer for anything other than programming related work. For that, I hear it's excellent.
But for casual use, graphic design, gaming, or pretty much anything else it's simply not viable. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is coping. You're better off using one of those debloat tools for Windows 10 or 11 to get rid of all the telemetry and spyware.

I'm actually testing out a mod for Windows called ReviOS as we speak. It seems to be working pretty well so far, and doesn't have copilot, telemetry or forced updates.

Great insight, what else does this ReviOS offer? May look into it.

It's just a set of tweaks you apply to a fresh Windows install, so it doesn't really offer anything more than Windows itself does. Like I said, it just removes bloatware, disables telemetry and allows you more control over things like updates and Windows Defender.

Tempting, may give this a go on whatever new system I get next

Wasn't there something about Windows 10 being the end-all be-all for Windows OS? 10 suits me fine and I've never found a reason to "upgrade" to 11, but whenever they force a switch I'll bite the bullet and learn Linux instead.

Windows has tried shoving Windows 11 install down my throat several times already (usually when I do system updates), thank fuck flash drives exist for when they try and force it on us (which they will)

Weird, I got a ryzen 7600 and it works just fine. Unless they mean that you need win11 for their upcoming Ryzen 9000 series. That would suck such a fat ass
