Film ALMOST FAMOUS [2000]

This is one of my favorite movies ever. i recently saw it again, one of my faves...i think this is the first time ive watched it as a MAN (i watched it lots in highschool)...

the plot is basically: a kid named william miller grows up sheltered with an overbearing but sweet mom who hates rock and roll and stuff. but he wants to be a rock critic and ends up falling into a position with Rolling Stone magazine interviewing a band and goes on tour with them (the band is fictionalized but is a combination of a bunch of 70s bands).

its a great movie for me because it is such a potent portrayal of that era in a young man's life where you stop being a boy and you become a man. its kind of a portrayal of what these 2 worlds colliding looks and feels like. the movie takes place in the 70s, long before i was born, but it has a universal appeal to it where you cant relate to the specifics but the FEELING of falling in love for the first time, seeing the world, discovering what people and the world is like for the first time. it is a little romanticized, but i always feel like dramatized or romanticized versions of things tend to be the most distilled portrayals of real life experiences.

it has a freaking flawless soundtrack too.

i dont want to spoil too much because everyone should see this great coming of age movie.

here's a clip of what i think is one of the best scenes:

this scene in particular really captures a prism of emotions and feelings. ive had similar moments like this in my life, and this captures that feeling so perfectly

go watch this shit right tf now, dude, its' a 9.5/10
