I dunno like cool people who have made cool rom hacks.

I never did romhacks with anyone, all my works I did alone. I came across with some cool people in the romhacking/modding community, but the majority of them complain too much. Also, its pretty difficult to recomend some good forum to host your mods, the majority of them can deleted your mod for any arbitrary reason, that its better for you to host your mod in your own site.

based.mods is a thing. basically some people were sick and tired of the jannies over at nexus, moddb, and other modding sites who took down anything that criticized them and made this site.

its very bare bones and leaves a lot to be desired, but so far this is really the only site i have found that actively hosts banned mods and such things like that.

In their defense they do have to stick to their anti-censorship stance and so unfortunately that does also include nude mods to some extent I guess.

This shit is why I despise the modern gaming industry and community. You can't just play a game anymore, it needs some political spin shoved into it so now, much like television and movies, you're getting preached to or having left wing ideology shoved in your face in the most subtle yet noticeable of ways. Have an issue with this and have the skills to change or remove this content for your personal use? You're a bigot and a bunch of nerds come out the woodwork to call you a bad person, chastising you for making the mod and banning you from filesharing sites for daring to upload your modification. No shit retro handhelds and emulators are getting more popular, what is there to like in modern gaming for the sane individual?

theres nothing to like in the modern gaming/cultural landscape really. most of the good stuff is just indie devs pushing out to small niche audiences.

one can take a look at the revival of "boomer" shooters to see how people want good, fun games again. Lethal Company outsold MW3 last year for a reason.

Those viral indie games are also a cancer imo. People discover them, then zoomers / streamers / "content creators" abuse them to the very last drop and jump to different game. Not really adding any value to community.

i think in today's day and age gatekeeping is now more important than ever. Lord knows the amount of times i've seen a community/fandom be infiltrated by degens, lolcows, youtubers, and only for them just ruin it and its community then leave for the next one.
