Have you seen what the Soviet Union did to them? Wasting their days shitposting online is one of the few reprieves they can get away from the shadow of their bankrupt countries other than drinking and drugs. I find it stupid people on there are even dissing gold and silver, precious metals are one of the oldest investments there are and unlike stocks and shitty crypto coins you can actually own it and hold it, and sell at any time unlike a stock or crypto where there has been cases where exchanges have refused to let people buy and sell for this and that reason. They may take awhile to increase in price but I trust their value way more than assets you only own on paper. I don't like investments that I can't personally hold that much basically though I don't mind dabbling in stocks and crypto when I see potential in one.

It still feels surreal to me that I can walk into most stores now and see anime stuff littered around and the most normie girl you know watches it. You just would not see it in the 2000s and early 2010s, at the very least Pac Man or Space Invaders shirts but that would genuinely be it for nerd culture in shops and these days it feels like you're in a different timeline.

I don't think 4chan will ever die considering its status and if anything will be used by users until they find a greener pasture themselves.

Yeah tbh 4chan is good for containment for these kinds of idiots who have no idea the sheer honeypot post Moot 4chan is. Yeah that's the big risk for every altchan/dissident forum/non-mainstream site, you obviously do want your site to be known and people using it but the wrong groups getting word of it and then being tolerated can eventually ruin them in the long-term. It's every admin, mods, and users duty to gatekeep however they can to make sure this doesn't happen or all the work ends up being for nought.

I am sad to see Hiro implement such a antithetical system to the site. So much of thread subculture comes from the unique shitposters that may be scared off by this system and bare minimum this could lead to users leaving the platform for how slow it will make things. I don't think it'll be the death nail though. So many times people have predicted the collapse of 4chan but it never comes. Even federated imageboard networks fizzle out as seen with anon.cafe earlier this year. 4chan reins because of it's size and even the sites that had users like infinity chan or 420 chan ended up shrinking and dying in reliance.
