They were a series of games exclusive to the PS2, developed by Level-5 games, the same japanese developers who make shit like Professor Layton and other fun titles, it was marketed as a supposed 'Zelda Killer' back in the days and, picking it up again on a PS2 emulator, the first game really holds up for me, haven't played the second one yet, but I've heard almost nothing but good things.

Additionally, it had a weapon breaking system that Zelda would later rip off with a shittier version in BOTW, the more you know!

Here's some screenies if anyones interested in what it looks like:

Pretty memorable PS2 classic. Never cared much for the Zelda comparison, the game had more in common with Act Raiser than Zelda but I guess that green hat made magazines at the time run wild. Never played the sequel either but I remember seeing it at the video store back in the day but choosing to rent Rayman Raving Rabbits instead (huge mistake, terrible game).

From what I've seen, it's easier to get a copy of the first then the second for some reason, maybe it's just cause of where I live, but I've found far more copies of DC1 then DC2 or even the EU release of 2, Dark Chronicle.

emulating the ps2 is fucking cancer so ehhh , i already tried with MGS3 and honestly i'd rather shill out the 30 bucks to make it plug and play, That being said i can probably find a DC copy for like 12 dollars
