Yes, you heard that right. In the early 1980s Bentio Mussolini's Granddaughter Alessandra made a J pop album called Amore (I guess those WW2 connections were still there ;) ) and its actually pretty good, brilliant in fact; hell, some even regard this album as one of their favourite jpop/citypop albums.
The songs on the album are a mix of Japanese, English, and Italian vocals, and the album came about by chance when she was asked to sing for a Japanese commercial, despite having no prior singing experience. The advertisement seemed to have been a success as she was offered a one off record deal with Alfa Records, with the album being produced by Miki Curtis and some of the songs being written by Cristiano Malgioglio (an Italian composer). This bizarre happenstance was what ultimately led to the creation of a Japanese Italian JPop album sung by the granddaughter of one of the most notorious dictators of all time and I highly recommend you give it a listen as it's definitely unique and not a type of collaboration we will ever see again in our lifetimes.
