Many have hoped, like most these posts, that it's a nothingburger but jesus christ look at what the official Ukraine twitter account posted the day OP said it would happen on:

I seriously hope I do not die over Ukraine shenanigans, this is seriously alarming and can't believe they would go this far just to get some extra leeway against Russia. Though these days it shouldn't surprise me the lengths evil people will go to get their way...

response of it seems pretty mixed , so i wouldn't be surprised if there was MASSIVE western pushback considering the current political state , and the general consensus of nuclear weaponry would probably lead to some "happening" level shit going on , not for russia but for the west.
