Ok, so it's come to my attention whilst making this thread that this isn't anything new, with the video(s) being posted three years ago now, but it's honestly so cool that I wouldn't be doing this technology the service it deserves by not sharing it on here.
Essentially the fella has taken advantage of the expansion chip support in SNES cartridges (like how Star Fox did) in order to create a "chip" that helps create 3d and raytraced environments on the snes. The setup is messy and would need serious work if it somehow was a commerical product back in the day but what matters is that it works and wow it is impressive. Crazy how someone can make a 90s 16bit console achieve this, it goes to show only a bad builder blames his tools.
